Let’s get into 4 Japanese beauty products that will change your life.
Kikumasamune Sake Brewing Lotion
This toner is famous for the Kikumasamune dry sake that it contains. The sake is high is kojic acid which hydrates and smooths the skin. The ceramides, amino acids, arbutin and placenta extract boost the skin barrier and protect against moisture loss. This toner is alcohol free and less acidic than most.
I’ve used this sunscreen since 2020 when I purchased it in Japan. This sunscreen is runny. It applies like a watery gel and dries down quickly without a sticky feel at the end. This is my holy grail product always! The watery texture is like nothing we have here in the U.S., this sunscreen leaves a beautiful glowing finish and works well as a makeup base.
Melano CC Vitamin C Lotion (Light Type)
My next favorite is this famous vitamin C toner. Toners are called lotions in Japan by the way. I think this toner is so famous because it’s affordable and effective.
The ascorbic acid aka pure vitamin C works to brighten, even and moisturize the skin. I used this product to heal my skin during and after postpartum hormonal acne. This contains licorice root to help soothe dry and red skin. I will always recommend this for people with acne prone skin, and it’s still a favorite now that my hormones are stable haha. It helps to lighten my dark spots over time and is even more effective when used with its sister product, our next and final favorite.
Melano CC Vitamin C Essence
My favorite thing about this essence is the yummy and bright citrus scent. It’s a light vitamin C treatment that you apply after your toner. Strong and pure Vitamin C. The texture is a little sticky, like a true serum. It soaks into the skin slowly. FYI: an essence is a highly concentrated product, then you have serums with even more concentration, and finally ampoules, with the highest concentration levels. Ex: a vitamin C ampoule has more concentration of vitamin C than a vitamin C essence.
This is a heavyweight against dark spots, melasma and acne scars. I have postpartum acne scars on my cheek that are almost faded because of this product. I strongly believe it’s boosted when you use the toner as well, I noticed my scars would lighten overnight. Small and subtle changes over time but definitely changed.
So, if you try any one of these, your life will change for the better. If you find yourself using all 4 of these, your life will change 4x for the better!! The Japanese pride themselves on safe ingredients, their products use less ingredients because less is more when you’re using premium and high quality ingredients. Try one out and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading, see you next time!
